What distinguishes the current generation from its predecessors?

I believe that social media isn’t always a good idea and that our generation has an issue with the internet. For example, Facebook and Snapchat have become so popular that we can no longer live without them and we have become addicted to them. We can’t do anything without social media. While older generations met and got to know people earlier, it took us a little longer because this generation was constantly using social media.
